Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdullah Al-Lafi, has affirmed Libya's continued support for the Palestinian cause, the right of return for the Palestinians, and the establishment of their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.

Al-Lafi had a phone conversation with the Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh during his meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Muhammad Rahal.

The PC vice president reviewed with the Palestinian ambassador the general situation in Palestine and the Israeli escalation against its people, as the global concern is focused on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

Ambassador Rahal praised Libya's supportive stance towards the Palestinians, hoping for the success of the elections to achieve stability and enable Libya to use its presence in Arab and regional events to advance the Palestinian cause.
