Vice President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received the German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Unmacht, on Sunday.

The two sides shared views on the political scene in Libya and ways to end the transitional stages, achieve consensus between political parties, and advance the country towards free and transparent elections.

They also reviewed the situation in the flood-stricken cities, including Derna, and the importance of combining international efforts in relief efforts.

Al-Lafi stressed the need for establishing a body to oversee the reconstruction process of Derna and other affected cities, away from tensions or political exploitation.
