The Vice President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed in a phone call Monday with the US Ambassador/Envoy to Libya Richard Norland the political and security situation in Libya.

"I spoke this evening with US Ambassador Richard Norland to follow up on several files of common interest. "We stressed the importance of the success of the national reconciliation project and the PC's role, in particular," Al-Lafi wrote on Twitter.

The two sides agreed on the need for the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to promptly reach a solid consensus in order to resolve the constitutional issue.

According to the VP, they also agreed to continue cooperation to overcome the obstacles hindering stability and thus pave the way for presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.
