The Libyan Foreign Ministry said Al-Mangoush and Orlando reiterated the need for appointing a new UN envoy to Libya to speed up the political process and reach a constitutional basis that leads to elections, hailing Italy's support for stability and elections in Libya.

"There is a need for ending all differences and rejecting unilateral measures that lead to instability. We need to maintain calm.” Al-Mangoush said.

The Foreign Ministry explained that the Italian envoy had reaffirmed his country's full support for a political process that leads to stability in Libya and for focusing local and international efforts on paving the way for national elections as soon as possible.
