The Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Mussa al-Maqarif, has met with the director of the Ghadames City Development Agency, Abdel Salam Haiba, and the director of the Ghadames Center for Research, Studies and Heritage Documentation, Mukhtar Houda.
They discussed establishment of cultural activities in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO), the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO), and the National Organization for Education, Culture and Science, to remove the old city of Ghadames from the List of World Heritage in Danger and back to the List of World Heritage Sites.
