The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, has criticized the detention of former Tunisian Parliament Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi, saying “it is the return of dictatorship and injustice in Tunisia, adding “Ghannouchi is not alone”.

On Monday, A Tunisian court sentenced Ghannouchi, the leader of Ennahda Party, to one year in prison and and fined 1000 TND.
