The Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khalid Al-Mishri, called on the Presidential Council, in its capacity as the chief commander of the Libyan army, to open an urgent investigation into the circumstances in which the HCS was prevented from holding its session on Monday morning in Tripoli by the “Constitution Protection Force” on orders and instructions from the Minister of Defense and Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

In a letter he addressed to the Presidential Council and published by the media office of the HCS on Facebook, Al-Mishri said the prevented session was a public and important one, calling on the Presidential Council to take the appropriate measures regarding the incident, which he described as an obstruction to political efforts.

Al-Mishri also asked the Attorney General to interrogate the Prime Minister and prevent him from traveling until the investigations are completed in the case which saw Constitution Protection Force besieging the meeting headquarters of the HCS.
