First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Fawzi al-Nuwairi and the High Council of State Head Khaled al-Mishri have discussed the need for the two chambers to agree on a constitutional basis, electoral laws, and sovereign positions, Parliament Spokesman Abdullah Belhaq said.

"Al-Nuwairi received, Al-Mishri at his office on Wednesday to discuss several files and issues that need consensus between the two houses, the most important of which are the constitutional base, election laws, and sovereign positions," the parliament's spokesman stated.

The two sides stressed the need to address the outstanding issues as soon as possible, hoping that it would lead to effective decisions and end the political impasse in the country.

They also discussed a schedule for holding elections, the draft constitution, and ways to end the transitional stages, according to Belhaq.
