Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, has stressed the need to hold elections on sound grounds based on the House of Representatives’ willingness to adhere to its commitments by issuing the referendum and electoral laws.

This came during his meeting with French Ambassador to Libya Brigitte Curmi, accompanied by French military attaché on Wednesday in Tripoli.

Curmi stressed her country's keen interest in achieving stability in Libya, and to ensure the smooth running of the coming elections.

The two sides also discussed the economic forum to be sponsored by the French embassy in Tripoli next month, which will be attended by major French companies in various sectors including energy, health and infrastructure.
