The head of the High National Elections Commission, (HNEC,) Imad Al-Sayeh, met with the Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the HNEC in Tripoli.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in the political scene and the possibility of the international community’s support for the upcoming elections, in order to allow for a peaceful atmosphere to prevail throughout the process.
For his part, Buccino confirmed the Italian government’s support for the upcoming elections, praising the efforts of the HNEC and its steadfast endeavour to implement the will of the Libyan people themselves to reach peace and stability.
