UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has discussed with the Algerian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Attaf, several files, including the situation in Libya.

The Media office of the Algerian Foreign Ministry reported that Guterres highly praised, during the meeting that took place in New York, the role of the Algerian diplomacy in supporting stability of Libya and Mali, and its actual contributions to advancing the goals of sustainable development in the region and the entire continent.

The two parties touched on several regional files such as; the situation in the Sahel and Sahara region and political developments in Mali, in light of the efforts made by Algeria, to ensure resumption of implementation of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement, besides the crises in Libya, Yemen and Sudan.
