"Alzaera Al-Maqtouf" was elected as mayor of Zalten municipality during the municipal election process that was held on Monday, December 30, recorded as the first woman assigned to hold this position in Libya.
The High National Elections Commission pointed out to the ability of Libyan women being part of the political process according to the highest standards of integrity and credibility, to achieve their ambitions.
