The head of the National Center for Animal Health, Zakaria Al-Khattal, confirmed that the trade movement between Libya and Egypt regarding livestock and meat has completely halted.

Al-Khattal said in media statements that the current trade activities of livestock going on across the borders of both countries is illegal, and it is carried out in full view of the port officials.

The head of the General Veterinary Authority at the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Abdul Hakim Mahmoud, has served notice to prevent importing livestock from Libya, saying that the Rift Valley fever outbreak had been detected in Libya.
