The Director of the Technical Affairs Department of the Antiquities Authority has discussed with local officials in Al-Khoms municipality to stop some projects planned to be established east of the archaeological site of Leptis Magna, which will have a negative impact on the archaeological site.

According to the Libyan Antiquities Authority, one of the projects that was discussed being stopped was the establishment of an office and a garbage recycling plant about 1,000 meters from the site.

The official in the Antiquities Authority also conducted a field visit to the Leptis Antiquities Monitoring Service to see a cliff caused by a citizen using a heavy machine.
