The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, has agreed with the head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, to implement the outcome of the Bouznika Agreement related to sovereign positions before next January.

Speaking at a joint press conference, in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, the two sides stressed the importance of reaching an agreement to ensure that there is a single executive authority in the country.

For his part, Al-Mishri confirmed that an agreement had been reached to resolve the issue of sovereign positions before next January, including solving the problem of the executive authority, indicating that they are working to complete the implementation of the remaining sovereign positions after agreeing on two out of seven of them.

These discussions came after a period of political stalemate in the country following the failure of the two parties to reach final understandings regarding the constitutional basis for holding elections.
