In his capacity as Speaker of the Tobruk House of Representatives, Aqilah Saleh, a candidate for the presidential elections, met with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Faraj Qaeem, in clear violation of the presidential election law, which he himself ratified, without putting it to a vote. 

The law included an article requiring a presidential candidate to stop working and exercise his duties three months before the elections date.

According to the official Facebook page of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Saleh discussed with Qaeem, mechanisms of activating the law, that includes increasing the salaries of members of the police force in the ministry.
