The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the mayor of Wadi Al-Bawanis, for his disposal of medical equipment designated to confront the Corona pandemic in 2020.
The Attorney General's Office said in a statement on Thursday, "The municipality official received 28 intensive care devices, then he provided the competent employee with only 16 devices from the total number of the devices he received."
The Attorney General's Office disclosed that the investigator "examined evidence of irregularities in the case, which necessitated the order to detain him pending the case".
