The Audit Bureau has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chemonics International, a Washington-based development firm, to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance transparency in Libya’s public sector.
The agreement, signed by Audit Bureau President Khaled Shakshak and witnessed by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt, is part of the USAID-funded EPIC program. The initiative aims to provide advanced auditing tools, professional certification for auditors, and pilot audits to improve oversight of government entities.
During a meeting in Tripoli, Shakshak and Berndt discussed the importance of impartiality and independence in building credibility for the bureau’s work.
