The National Safety Authority has raised the level of alert after the National Centre of Meteorology predicted weather fluctuations that may affect the Libyan coastal areas in the coming days.

The meteorology centre warned that rains could exceed (50) mm, starting from Saturday.

In an advisory statement, the authority cautioned residents near valleys to take extra precautions as the rains may lead to flash floods in low-lying areas and road blockades.

It also called on the relevant departments and maritime rescue agencies to stand by and combine efforts to address any situation that might arise from the potential severe weather conditions.
