Authorities in Tripoli have retrieved an unidentified body from the Wadi al-Rabi rea near the capital's eastern suburb of Tajoura.

The operation was carried out in collaboration between the Libyan Red Crescent, the Police of Wadi Al Rabi, the 51st Infantry Brigade, and in the presence of the Public Prosecution Office.

The Red Crescent said that initial analyzes show that the body was buried for about two years and a half or more, indicating that the victim was killed during the recent war waged by warlord Khalifa Haftar on the capital between 2019-2021.

Wadi Al-Rabi was a landscape for some of the most intensive clashes between the forces defending Tripoli and Haftar's militias and mercenaries.
