The owners of bakeries in Tripoli have expressed their intention to close their bakeries, due to the clampdown on them by the recently formed committees and the imprisonment of a number of workers, the head of the Higher Committee for the Follow-up of Bakeries, Ali Bouazza, said.

“The bakers informed us, during our meeting with them that the follow-up committees violate those who do not have scales despite the Ministry of Economy exemption from this item, and close bakeries that do not find their owners”, Bouazza added.

Bouazza pointed out that all the workers in the bakeries fled for fear of arrest, which forced the bakers to take the decision to collectively close and search for a solution to the current situation.
