The Prime Minister of the parallel government, Fathi Bashagha, has congratulated the head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, for his re-election as HCS president, accompanied by his two deputies, Naji Mukhtar and Omar Abu Shah.

In a tweet, Bashagha praised the members of the HCS for the principle of peaceful deliberation of its presidency, and their full keenness to cooperate with the House of Representatives and its government to conduct the elections, as he put it.

The HCS has re-elected its current president, Khaled Al-Mishri, as president for the 5th term in office, after obtaining 65 out of 115 votes of the Council members who participated in the second round of voting.
