The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily discussed on Tuesday, with the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Mihraje, the need for the international support for a sustainable path to peace and stability in Libya.

“I received the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Mihraje at the UNSMIL office in Tripoli. We reviewed the latest political developments and discussed the need for the international community to take unified action to support a sustained path to peace and stability in Libya”, Bathily tweeted.

The meeting came after the UNSMIL head attended the conclusion of the committee's meetings in Sirte, where he called on the international community to support the Joint Military Commission (JMC) 5 + 5, with the aim of reunifying the military and security institutions, and the removal of mercenaries and foreign fighters.
