The UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, called on all Libyan leaders to prepare for and be part of a national dialogue to come up with a unified position at all levels.

Bathily told Al-Araby TV that time has come to put an end to the existing transitional period, by holding fair and transparent elections. He said this is the demand of all Libyans, adding that all western and eastern leaders in Libya whom he met with had expressed desire to hold elections.

The UN envoy said that he would continue his tour across Libya with visits to the southern region in the coming days, stressing that the Libyan people in general want free and fair elections, and they also want to choose leaders who care about their economic, social, health and educational needs.
