The UN envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily met Tuesday with the UK’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Barbara Woodward, and the UK’s Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, and they discussed ways to strengthen their engagement to support Libyans in overcoming the political deadlock.
Bathily said on Twitter that in support for Libyans' aspirations to choose their leadership and representative institutions, they had agreed on the need for stakeholders to establish implementable electoral laws, improve security and create a conducive environment for free, inclusive, transparent and credible elections.
