The Security Directorate in Benghazi has banned New Year's Eve celebrations and prohibited the sale of related items.

Major General Ahmed Al-Shamakhi, Director of the Security Directorate and Head of the Security Chamber in Benghazi, circulated a relevant order to the general investigations, emergency response, criminal investigation, and police stations.

The decision mandates legal actions against those violating the directive or selling items associated with New Year's celebrations.

The directorate said the decision protects the concept of monotheism and preserves religious sanctity.
