Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, spoke Thursday about reconstruction in the city of Benghazi, saying that he personally saw firsthand important efforts to revive cultural and economic activities and to rebuild after years of conflict, as he put it.
Berndt wrote in a post on the X platform, “It was a pleasure to host Mayor Saqr Bujwari at my residence in Tunis. I thanked Mayor Bujwari for the warm welcome and hospitality I have received during my visits to Benghazi”.
"Our embassy team is committed to continuing to strengthen US-Libya people-to-people ties in Benghazi and in municipalities across all regions of Libya”, Berndt added.
