Britain has announced through its Foreign Office on Friday the provision of an aid package worth 2 million pounds sterling to support Sudanese refugees who fled the war to Libya.
The British Foreign Office explained in a statement that this funding will support emergency health, water, sanitation and hygiene services that these displaced refugees need, in cooperation with international partners, to support about 150,000 refugees in the city of Kufra, southern Libya.
The British Foreign Office pointed out that estimates indicate more than two million people have fled Sudan due to the violence that broke out following the coup in April last year, including More than 1,200 people enter Libya every day and up to 45,000 refugees are currently in dire need of support.
