The British Embassy in Libya has called for "meaningful progress in fighting corruption to ensure all Libyans benefit from Libya's wealth" and said that transparency and accountability are key to good governance.

On the occasion of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9), the embassy said in a tweet via the embassy’s official account on Twitter, Friday, that “all countries are witnessing a battle against corruption, as it negatively affects every aspect of society and is intertwined with conflict and instability, and jeopardizes social and economic development, and destabilizes democratic institutions.”
