The British embassy in Tripoli has firmly denied recent reports suggesting its closure, asserting that these claims are "completely unfounded."
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the embassy confirmed that its premises in the Libyan capital remain open and fully operational, led by Ambassador Martin Longden and a substantial team of diplomats and officials.
"We are not in the process of leaving Tripoli during this challenging period," the statement read. "Instead, we continue to work with our international partners to support de-escalation efforts and promote stability in the capital."
These remarks come in response to circulating reports alleging that the embassy intended to suspend its operations or withdraw from Libya. The embassy has firmly refuted these claims in their entirety.
