The Department of Banking and Monetary Control in the Central Bank of Libya has declared that the new coin dinar currency issued by the parallel Central Bank in eastern Libya is not to be dealt with in any form.

It stated in a publication on their official website on Tuesday that the currency has not been issued through the correct procedures and is considered as illegal.

The Central Bank of Libya reiterated that it’s the only institution that has the authority to issue new currency.

The parallel Central Bank in Bayda announced the launch of a new coin dinar currency for trading on the second of November, to be traded alongside the current paper category.
