Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Seddek Elkaber, raised concerns regarding corruption in overseas medical treatment expenses in a correspondence to the Attorney General, which media outlets circulated on Monday.
In a letter dated October 2, Elkaber highlighted that despite the transfer of 248 million dinars this year, there are new claims worth 87 million dinars.
The CBL head called on the Attorney General to take immediate measures to stem the financial drain and ensure that allocated funds reach the intended health attachés abroad.
