Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Nagi Issa, has met with Turkish Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, to discuss the challenges facing Libyan banks and Turkish companies due to the unresolved letters of guarantee issued in favor of Libyan development agencies for projects contracted with Turkish firms since 2011.
Issa received the Turkish minister at his office in Tripoli on Wednesday, where discussions focused on the need to strengthen cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries, as well as encouraging the contribution of leading Turkish construction companies to support development and reconstruction efforts in Libya.
The talks also touched on the potential to open new horizons for other vital sectors beyond reconstruction, in line with the CBL vision to diversify the economy.
