The Governor of Libya's Central Bank (CBL), Saddek Elkaber, met on Friday in Tunis with Deputy Assistant of the US Secretary of State, Joshua Harris, and the Chargé d'Affairs of the US Embassy in Libya, Leslie Ordman.

A statement by the CBL said the talks focused on global economic challenges and the CBL's efforts to enhance financial transparency and promote economic stability.

Meanwhile, the US embassy said both sides agreed on the importance of ensuring that Libya's resources go to provide basic services and support the Libyan people.

Earlier, the Government of National Unity disclosed that a government delegation met with officials at the US embassy to discuss financial transparency and fighting corruption in Libya.
