The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Sadek Elkabeer, on Thursday, met with the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington.

A statement by the CBL said the meeting focused on the bank's interventions to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, besides the road map for the next stage.

The IMF praised the efforts of the CBL to ensure the financial sustainability of the Libyan state and to preserve reserves and the Libyan dinar in light of the exceptional and complex situation the country is experiencing.
