The Director of the National Center for Disease Control, Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar has said that cases of leishmaniasis this year are expected to reach 2000, confirming the availability of adequate treatment for this season.

"The Medical Supply Department had provided up to 5000 injections of leishmaniasis treatment, which engulfed the region since years," Al-Najjar stated.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided 1,200 injections, indicating that the number of cases in the city of Tawergha itself had exceeded 1100 cases, while another 1,000 cases are expected to occur in the western region during the coming period.
