The CEO of the Italian energy company Eni, Claudio Descalzi, has called on the Libyan parties to reach an internal consensus to resolve their differences.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Claudio denied any Franco-Italian conflict over energy sources in Libya, noting that French company Total's activity in Libya is concentrated in the oil sector, while natural gas production is the primary activity of Eni Group.

He added that cooperation with French companies exists, but with a competitive spirit also, as he put it.
