The Civil Registry Authority (CRA) has refused statements made by a politician in which he accused the CRA of falsifying national ID numbers for using them in upcoming elections.
"Whoever questions our integrity should bear full responsibility for his statement," the CRA warned, denying any forgery or manipulation in the national ID number system.
It also stressed the importance of its role in leading Libya towards free and fair elections, confirming that the identity and nationality documents, the database of the civil registry and the hard copy and electronic national ID numbers are in safe hands.
Earlier, the head of National Forces Alliance (NFA), Mahmoud Jibril, made a statement - described as strange - claiming that more than one million fake national ID numbers have been issued to be used in future electoral process.
