Eighteen civil society organizations have called on the government to enforce the law on speed limits and respect for traffic lights on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

The organizations demanded in a statement on Sunday the government to oblige citizens to use the seat belt and child chairs in vehicles, as well as helmets for motorcycles and the prevention of the use of phones while driving.

The statement also demanded not to allow the supply or use of worn out vehicles and to increase attention to the road-worthiness of vehicle standards through periodic technical inspections.
