The Head of the Civil Status Authority, Tariq Al-Tuman, has denied the news about the hacking of the Civil Registration System in Libya, describing it as rumors.

According to the media office of the Government of National Unity, Al-Tuman confirmed that all data is protected in accordance with data integrity standards.

Facebook activists claimed Tuesday that the database of the country’s national ID numbers is put up for sale on the dark web for $25,000 dollars.

The Attorney General, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, has recently announced the discovery of 63,986 forged national numbers, explaining that these numbers are forgery and do not exist in the Civil Registration System.
