The head of the Civil Status Department, Mohammed Baltamer, announced the formation of a committee to investigate allegations regarding the forgery of National Identification Number, saying that rumors of the falsification of a million national number, is illogical and has no link to reality.
Baltamer called via a press statement Saturday, the relevant authorities to postpone any elections until the committee concludes its work and confirms the integrity of the national numbers, to intercept any attempt to challenge the voting results in the upcoming elections.
"The Civil Status Authority refrains from any political strife and stands at one distance from all parties," Baltamer added.
