Authorities have seized around 84,200 narcotic tablets at the Khums Seaport among a cargo of cars imported from the Netherlands, spokesman for the Customs Authority, Fahmi Al-Magouri has confirmed.

"The operation was part of teamwork between the Public Prosecutor's Office and the General Department for Smuggling and Drugs Control," Al-Magouri explains, pointing out that the District-Attorney had ordered the seizure of this large amount after forming a committee from the Anti-Smuggling and Khums Drugs Section.

Examinations conducted by the relevant bodies have proved that the seized product was drugs, according to the customs authority, noting that the shipment will be disposed in the presence relevant authorities.
