Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said on Sunday that the international efforts pushing for elections come in line with his government's demands.

"I commend the efforts of Libya's friends and the UN mission to push for fair and just national elections," the PM said in a statement published on the government's account.

He said these efforts comply with the government's demand to end the transitional stages, vowing that he will continue work to serve his people, maintain peace, and drive the country towards elections.

Dbeibah's remarks come days after the UN Envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, announced an international consensus to push for elections in 2023.
