The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbiebah welcomed the statement issued by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, in which he urged all parties to "accelerate consultations on ways to move forward in the political process, and create conditions for holding elections."

Dbiebah said on Twitter that his government is with the will of more than 2.8 million voters who want an end to the transitional periods in Libya.

Bathily said that for logistical reasons beyond the UNSMIL’s control, the important meeting for the resumption of the political dialogue between the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS) cannot take place in Zintan.
