Prime Minister, Abdulhamid Dbeibeh, announced on Saturday the successful completion of municipal elections in a smooth and secure manner.
He emphasized that this success serves as further evidence against those attempting to create new transitional phases as a precondition for holding elections.
"The ballot boxes through which Libyans today expressed their will and decisions in choosing who will manage their municipalities are the same boxes through which they can select their new executive and legislative authorities. This will is being confiscated by those who extend their own terms by failing to draft fair and enforceable electoral laws. " the PM stated.
The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) announced that all polling stations had been closed, marking the end of the voting process in 58 municipalities.
