Tripoli-based Defense Ministry of UN-installed Presidency Council rejected on Sunday placing the military institution under General Khalifa Haftar, describing him "defeated prisoner of war,” a clear reference to Ouadi Doum war in 1987 during the Libyan-Chadian conflict in which Haftar and around 700 of his soldiers were captured as prisoners of war.

In a statement, the ministry said the military rule will only bring injustice and humiliation, referring to the exhuming of bodies and killing of women and children during Benghazi war by forces of Khalifa Haftar.
