The Deputy Prime Minister of the Interim Government of National Unity, Ramadan Abu Janah, discussed with Italian officials the latest developments in the political process and the security situation in Libya, in addition to the national reconciliation file. Abu Janah also said that there is no alternative to peace and stability in Libya.
The meeting was held on Thursday at the headquarters of the Italian Foreign Ministry in Rome, in the presence of Deputy Director General for Political and Security Affairs in the Ministry and the Central Director for the Mediterranean and the Middle East, the head of the Maghreb office “Libya, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia” of the Directorate General for Political and Security Affairs, and the Italian special envoy to Libya, Abu Janah said on Facebook.
The meeting stressed the importance of achieving stability in Libya in general, especially in the south, and working towards reconciliation and reparation, as well as intensifying efforts to hold elections as soon as possible.
