Sirte Municipality has confirmed the continuation of the desert locust control campaign, which involves spraying pesticides to eliminate this pest. This campaign is being conducted by the Agricultural Police, which is contributing to the campaign that began on March 19.
The municipality thanked the head and members of the Agricultural Police for their "tremendous" effort, stating that they are performing their duties to the best of their ability and that the results are encouraging.
Cities in southern Libya, including Ghat, Zuwayla, and Wadi Atba, are suffering from the spread of desert locusts. These cities require four-wheel drive vehicles, spraying machines, and pesticides, given that the affected area is a desert area, making it difficult to travel by ordinary vehicles.
