The Director of Mitiga International Airport, Lutfi Al-Tabib, said Saturday that the air traffic at the airport is running according to the timetable established, denying rumours about random missiles dropping on the airport or declaring the state of emergency and directing flights to Misrata airport.

In a press statement, Al-Tabib explained that the news circulated about the suspension of air traffic at the airport was drawn from old statements made by him concerning previous events.

Some media outlets reported that Mitiga Airport was closed after declaring a state of emergency, due to the falling of random shelling on the airport.
