Foreign Minister of the eastern-based government Abdulhadi Al-Hweij has led a delegation to Tunisia to oversee the repatriation of six Tunisian engineers who died in a road accident on the Kufra-Jalu highway.
The victims, who were working at the Sarir oil field, were killed last Friday when their passenger bus collided with a truck in the city of Jalu.
In a previous statement, Mustafa Abdelkabir, head of the Tunisian Human Rights Observatory has urged Tunisia’s government to secure compensation for the victims’ families, warning of legal challenges due to their employment through a subcontractor.
